It was my first PLAYERS Championship and what a blast we had. I wish I could have spent a few hours just watching with a beverage in hand, but hey I'm not complaining about working a golf tournament.
Let's set the record straight -- I picked Jason Bohn to win the tournament, he at least made the cut, but if you read Saturday's blog I did pick Sergio Garcia to win today. I got a mulligan and got it right, kind of like the 17th hole. The drama was awesome around the 17th, but I will say I prefer not to see the tournament come down to that hole on the first playoff hole. I think either 16 or 18 would have been just as good theatre and maybe a bit more fair for Garcia and Goydos, especially with the wind blowing at 40 mph.
I got turned down quite a bit this week (not by girls). Twice Adam Scott refused to answer a couple of questions. It was funny, someone said after it must be tough with all those girls yelling -- they like the young Adam Scott. Today was even worse. Ernie Els is a good guy, very nice all week until this afternoon. I needed a quick little word on the wind, yet after double bogeying the 18th hole Ernie was not happy and told me pretty succinctly. I can't repeat what he said. I'll give him a pass, he's usually better than that.
Still like to get your thoughts on the tournament. Can't wait for next year already -- after a nap of course.
