Our biggest local weather concern the next few days will be overnight/early morning fog, & we could see some especially dense fog early Fri. morning. Otherwise, looks like a very nice stretch of weather through the weekend with mild afternoons turning downright warm Sun. when afternoon highs will soar well into the 70s with some spots possibly touching 80. The warmth will be ahead of a large storm system moving through the Central U.S. which will produce heavy rain from Texas to the Ohio Valley & lots of ice & snow on its cold side. See the advisory maps below with a winter storm WATCH (dark blue shading) from Eastern Colorado to Wisconsin including Chicago. When the WATCH is upgraded to a WARNING, the color will become pink. For your social calendar....our Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens will be host Sat. to animal rescue groups that will have cats & dogs available for adoption. But always
remember -- especially during the holiday season -- to not give "surprise pets". Exercise a lot of thought & caution when considering a pet for the family (or an individual).

A Thu. night game involving the Pack, so I'll do my 3 weekly NFL picks now...14-19 on the season. Packers play at Dallas in a game on the NFL Network -- what??!! I sure hope the NFL doesn't make a habit of this. The game is riding a wave of popularity like never before...don't start alienating the fans now. Anyway...Favre is 0-8 at Texas Stadium...
Cowboys might be a bit better overall, especially at home...Pack will probably be without Woodson at cornerback which is a potentially major problem (why is the starting cornerback running back punts anyway!)....so all this considered Cowboys win 27-20.
The Jags are at the Colts. We all know the history here & that the Jags are playing good ball & the Colts are not. But at Indy, I'm going with the Colts 24-20.
Cincinnati is at Pittsburgh. This should be a pretty good game, & I'd be inclined to take the Bengals in Cincy. This could go either way, but I'll again go with
the home team -- Steelers win 30-27.
