The "wedge" -- east to northeast winds driving down & stacked up against the Appalachians has been firmly entrenched across the First Coast since Sat. night. The winds will become more southerly the next couple days & will allow for another big warm-up sending afternoon temps. to near or a little above 80. With the added humidity, we'll see a widely scattered afternoon shower or t'storm. There should be a little better coverage of showers & a few storms Wed. afternoon as a cool front settles through the area followed by another high pressure system moving through the Northeast U.S. This will bring another round of east winds & cooler temps. Thu. but winds should quickly veer to the south again later Fri. into Sat. which will send temps. back to near 80 or even warmer. Another cool front should
approach by Sat. with a few showers & storms. So it'll be quite a bit of back-&-forth the next week or so.
The overall U.S. weather pattern is turning stormy again -- much like the first 10-12 days of March. Severe storms are occurring in the Southern Plains to the Ohio Valley & there are at least a couple more widespread outbreaks in the offing during the next week to 10 days. No surprise as we enter April.
From the Farmer's Almanac:
Winter’s done, and April’s in the skies.
