Temp. Turn-Around for Jax vs. Denver... Career Day & UNF Panel Discussion

One more night of very chilly weather with near record cold early Thu. in the upper 30s.  Once we shake the chill, we're off to the races as temps. go.  Lighter winds, dry air & sunny skies will combine with temps. in the low to mid 70s to make for a near perfect afternoon.  Afternoon temps. will be warmer but humidity low Fri. through the weekend with afternoon temps. near or a little above 80...even warmer temps. early next week.

While we enjoy a temp. turn-around that'll send temps. into the 80s for a number of days in a row...Denver is having a temp. turn-around of their own but in the opposite direction.  The high in Denver Tue. was 82 but at least several inches of snow will fall by early Thu.  The foothills & mountains will have even heavier amounts.  This is great news as huge wildfires have been ongoing for days after the 3rd dries March (0.17") on record in Denver.

I was jumping around today from one part of Jax to another.  The day started at John Stockton Elementary where I was the keynote speaker for their career day.  I kicked off the day for some 500(!) K - 5th graders.  They were into it which made talking to -- & doing experiments with  -- them lots of fun...see the photo below.

From 12:30-2:30pm I was the moderator for an interesting global warming panel discussion at UNF (part of UNF's annual engineering symposium).  As I've pointed out numerous times within this column, it's important to understand & see both sides of the global warming issue; educate yourself...& leave room for debate, learning & understanding.
