National Association of Letter Carriers 16th Annual National food drive
On Saturday May 10, 2008 Letter Carriers through out the nation will be picking up non perishable food items for needy families. Customers are asked to leave non perishable food items near their mail box and the carrier will pick up the items when they deliver the mail. Publix is donating shopping bags with the food drive logo on them and they will be delivered to customers homes the week prior to the May 10th food drive. Last year over 611,000 pounds of food was collected from customers locally and over 70 million pounds nationally. The National Rural Letter Carriers association has their members assist in the collection on this very important day. The National Food Drive is sponsored by the following organizations: NALC, NRLCA, U.S. Postal Service, Campbells Soup, Valpak and the United Way. Please help us help the needy!
