What has this nation come to when a "majority" of viewers answering a TV station web poll feel it is OK for police to PUNISH a citizen with a TASER for asking a QUESTION at a public forum convened for that VERY PURPOSE?
I saw the video (raw footage) after hearing the 11PM news report (I had seen the story earlier in the Huffington post web site), and was shocked that the vote, up to that time, was 57 percent AGAINST THE EXERCISE OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT! After seeing the video, I tried to add my vote to the other side, but THE WEB SITE NO LONGER ACCEPTED VOTES, hence this post. The young man was asking tough questions, but was NOT disorderly and was NOT threatening harm to anyone. In fact, the speaker he was questioning, former candidate and Senator John Kerry, later said he was trying to answer the question as the student was led away, and had NO IDEA that he had been arrested and tased; the implication is that Kerry himself would not have wanted the dialogue cut off, even though the questions were embarrasing to him.
After six years of manipulation and suppression of dissent, not stopping it from being uttered, but making sure it is not heard in proportion to its intensity, we have become SHEEP, not actively questioning CITIZENS. Wake up while we still HAVE the right to protest!
If you love freedom, thank a soldier ... AND A PROTESTER.
